Winter Is Coming
Plus an unreal real photo

Today’s current water level: 77.7%
Winter Is Coming. A strong arctic cold front is expected to roll into Central Texas, bringing a real chance of freezing rain, sleet, and icy conditions starting Friday and lingering into the weekend. Temps could plunge below freezing, and while it’s still too early to say exactly how much ice or snow we’ll see around Lake Travis, this is one of those systems worth keeping an eye on.
This means bundling up, watching for icy spots, and adjusting your calendar in real time. The annual questions are already circulating - Do we drip faucets? Is this a bread-and-milk situation?
Weather permitting, here’s what’s happening around the lake this week.

What’s your confidence level in this forecast? |
Last Week’s Poll Results. A big chunk of you are calling Lakeway home, which is incredibly helpful as we start planning a few new things we’ve been quietly sketching out.
One idea in particular keeps rising to the top: a relaxed evening built around good food and good conversation. Not a formal networking thing, not a loud scene - more like the kind of night where you leave having met a few interesting people and wondering why this didn’t exist already.
If this sounds like something you’d be curious about, keep an eye on this space. We’ll share more soon.

A New Home for the Current. We’ve also been quietly working on a brand new website and can’t wait to share it in the next few weeks.
If you’ve enjoyed the newsletter, we’d love your help bringing the site to life. That could be a short testimonial, a favorite photo of the area, a sunset, a weekend outing, or a moment that feels very Lake Travis. You can submit them here.

A Barbie-core dreamhouse just popped up in Hudson Bend and it’s already having its moment.
Tucked just off Lake Travis, this four-bedroom, four-bath stunner at 2900 Pamella Court hit the market at $899,000 and immediately earned a spot on Zillow Gone Wild. Nearly 4,000 square feet of unapologetic personality, the home leans all the way into bold pink walls, floral wallpaper, and a design confidence that never once asks for permission.
This is one of those listings that splits the internet cleanly in two - you either love it instantly or can’t look away. Either way, the comments are doing half the marketing.

Cold Front, Hot Takes. This weekend’s winter storm has everyone watching the forecast like it’s a season finale. Since it’s been unusually warm (and we’re all a little out of practice), here’s a quick refresher on winter weather prep and emergency resources for Lakeway, Bee Cave, and Lago Vista - just in case.
Adopt Me. Meet Styx McGhee, a playful, gentle terrier/lab mix with soulful eyes and excellent manners. His signature move? A single soft paw tap to say good morning…and then waiting patiently if it’s not time yet. Smart, sweet, dog-friendly, and easy to love.
Not ready for a furever baby? Austin Pets Alive! urgently needs 75 temporary foster homes ahead of this weekend’s freeze. Pick-ups are at the Town Lake Animal Center 12-6pm through Friday, with fostering needed through Wednesday, Jan. 28. If you’ve got a little extra space (and a warm couch), now’s the time.

After Hours. This late-night stunner at Pedernales Falls was captured by Tim Wuolle during the August new moon around 12:30 a.m. All with ranger permission and a level of commitment we deeply respect.
