According to the Austin American-Statesman, Texas’ favorite Thanksgiving side is a classic cornbread dressing - and we’ve listed their recipe below. TEXAS CORNBREAD DRESSING

Ingredients:

• 3 cups crumbled cornbread

• 2 tablespoons butter

• 1 small onion, diced

• ½ cup chopped celery

• 2 large eggs, beaten

• 2 cups chicken stock

• 1 tablespoon dried sage, or more to taste

• Salt and ground black pepper to taste 

Instructions:

1. Prep the vegetables: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and celery, cooking until the vegetables are soft and translucent.

2. Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread, cooked vegetables, beaten eggs, chicken stock, sage, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly moistened.

3. Bake: Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased medium baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven (usually around 350°F) until the dressing is golden brown and set.
