Music Lessons On the House. When we first introduced Musicologie Lakeway last fall, the new studio was getting ready to open just behind Baylor Scott & White on 620 with a simple goal: make learning music feel less intimidating, more personal, and actually fun.

They officially opened in November 2025, bringing their bright, modern space — and the Musicologie Method — to Lakeway and Bee Cave. The idea is to meet kids where they are, whether they’re touching a piano for the first time or ready to trade solo practice for playing in a band.

Now that Musicologie has had a little time to settle into the neighborhood, they’re celebrating by giving one local child a free month of music lessons.

Families can choose from four programs:

To enter, simply complete the form by Wednesday, September 30. One entry per child, please. The winner’s lessons will be subject to teacher availability.

If “learn an instrument” has been sitting somewhere on the family to-do list between swim lessons, soccer practice, and remembering which day is library day, this might be the nudge to finally give it a shot.

Pumpkin Season, Texas Edition. Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls is officially open for fall, with pumpkins arriving this week alongside hayrides, mazes, flower picking, goats, and plenty of fall-photo opportunities. There’s no admission or parking fee — just pay for the activities and pumpkins you choose. Open Thursday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m., and Monday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

New Thrills. COTALAND opens Saturday at Circuit of the Americas with 33 rides across 30 acres. The lineup includes a 60-mph tilt coaster, log ride, go-karts, and even a lap around the actual F1 track. Apparently watching cars go fast was only phase one.

Adopt Me. Mama Bunny was found injured and giving birth among the rocks near the border, but she kept all six puppies safe until Addicus Legacy Rescue took in the whole family. The pups are growing fast and expected to be ready for homes later in October. Pre-adoptions are opening early, so consider this your warning before the puppy photos do their work.

Big Tex Is Back. The State Fair of Texas opens Friday and runs through October 18 at Fair Park in Dallas. Twenty-four days of rides, livestock, live music, and increasingly ambitious things to deep-fried — worth the road trip at least once.
