Local Ways to Celebrate Dad
Plus Starbucks opening soon and a dreamy treehouse escape

Today’s water level: 43.6%

Happy Father’s Day. When the idea of Father’s Day first came up in the early 1900s, it was dismissed as a copycat holiday. While moms got their official day in 1914, dads had to wait until 1972 (thanks, Nixon).
These days, we’re making up for lost time. Americans now spend over $20 billion on dads - mostly on grills, gadgets and a ton of sports gear. It’s even one of the NFL’s biggest sales moments of the year.
Not sure what to get Dad? Skip the stress and take him to one of the events below instead. Here’s what else to expect:
🥾 One Trail at a Time: Explore this Hill Country trail where every turn keeps things interesting.
☕️ Perk Up: Your new caffeine fix opens in just a few days.
🏡 Your Next Staycation: Escape to the treetops at this dreamy Hill Country hideaway.

Sleep in the Trees. Tucked beneath towering cypress trees that have seen centuries of Texas sunsets, Cypress Valley treehouses let you relive your childhood tree-climbing fantasy, minus the scraped knees. Wrap yourself in a blanket, watch fireflies flicker below, and drift off under a canopy of stars.
Each treehouse is one-of-a-kind, designed with a feather-light footprint and a whole lot of Hill Country magic. Whether you stay a night or a week, you’ll head home feeling refreshed, recharged, and a little more connected to nature.
