It's All Relative. Spain and Argentina meet in the World Cup Final on Sunday, which is a stranger matchup for this part of Texas than it first appears. Spanish ships brought the first cattle to the Americas in 1493, and those same herds eventually split into two iconic bloodlines: Argentina's criollo and the Texas Longhorn grazing in pastures along Highway 71.
So Sunday's final isn't just Spain vs. Argentina. Around here, even the cows have a rooting interest. Kickoff is 2pm.

One Shot at a Time. Most 11-year-olds spend their afternoons playing sports, practicing an instrument, or hanging out with friends. For Spicewood sixth-grader Esther Frayne, those afternoons are spent behind a precision air rifle - one shot at a time.
As a wheelchair user, traditional athletics came with limitations. Precision rifle shooting didn't. What began as a way to find a sport she could compete in quickly became something much more. Through her local 4-H club, Esther found not only a passion, but a place where determination mattered more than circumstance. This summer, that dedication earned her a Junior Olympics gold medal, and now she's climbing the rankings with her sights set on Team USA.

A Better Road Ahead. Bee Cave Parkway is getting a fresh layer of asphalt beginning July 19. Overnight construction will run for 4–6 weeks between RM 620 and Hwy 71, with lane closures now in exchange for a smoother drive over the next decade.
