Your Weekend, Mapped Out. One of the biggest things we wanted to launch with the new Lake Travis Current website was the endless “wait…where was that event again?” problem. So we built out a full Local Events section — a running calendar where you can now browse events by day, discover what’s happening around the lake in real time, and even view everything on an interactive map.
In other words: fewer screenshots, fewer open tabs, and a much easier way to figure out what’s going on in our area. From markets to fundraisers, fitness classes, and kid-friendly events, it’s all finally in one place.
And honestly? This week’s lineup is a pretty good place to start.
Here’s what’s happening around the lake this week.

The Current has slowly turned into more than just a list of events each week - and we’re continuing to shape where it goes from here.
So for this week’s poll, we’d love to know…
What content do you want to see more of?

Ziggy, The Dog Wizard trainer
A golden retriever puppy with no structure is basically a very athletic emotional support tornado.
After working with The Dog Wizard, our Marshall is calmer, more confident, and significantly less interested in making every household object part of his personal tasting menu.
A lot of that comes down to our trainer, Ziggy. He has a calm, approachable way of working with dogs (and their slightly overwhelmed owners) that makes the process feel practical instead of intimidating. The biggest thing we learned: good dog training is really people training. The sessions focused just as much on us - creating consistency, structure, and communication - as they did on the dog itself.
They also offer lifetime support and group classes after training ends, which is reassuring when your puppy suddenly decides to “forget” everything a few weeks later.
For anyone raising a pup around Lake Travis, this was one of the best investments we’ve made.

All Eyes on Me. Seven years in the making, Casa Lotus was shaped around the idea of a lotus flower opening toward light and water, and nearly every detail follows that philosophy.
The Lake Austin home centers around a soaring circular atrium where sunlight pours through an oculus overhead, shifting across Roman brick, terrazzo, and walnut as the day changes. Even the brick carries a story: sourced from one of the last American makers still producing the long, narrow style made famous by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Then there’s the pavilion. It houses the only private residential commission ever created by French artist JR - a massive “Eyes” installation that changes appearance as light moves through the structure.

October Plans. Austin City Limits Music Festival released its day-by-day 2026 lineup breakdown, giving everyone exactly what they needed: a reason to spend the next week debating which single-day ticket is the move.
Your Next Guilty Pleasure. Bravo is heading to the Texas Hill Country with a new reality series called Secrets, Lies, and Texas Wives, following the lives of wealthy Boerne women balancing ranches, families, social calendars, and apparently quite a bit of drama behind polished front doors.
Adopt Me. Meet Vinny, a Beagle/Husky/Lab mix whose preferred method of saying hello involves rolling upside down and presenting all four paws like he’s known you forever.

Shop Local. Before you make the drive into Austin or fill another Amazon cart, check Lake Travis first.
The coffee shops you linger in, the boutiques you wander through, the restaurants that know your order, the gyms where people know your name — they’re the reason this place feels like a community instead of just another suburb with pretty views.
Shopping local doesn’t just keep businesses open. It keeps Lake Travis feeling like Lake Travis.
