Gone, But Not Forgotten. A write-in from last week’s poll sent us down a rabbit hole.

Back in the day, Carlos n' Charlie's was the place to spend a summer weekend on Lake Travis. Opened in 1995 at Emerald Point, the floating restaurant became famous for live music, frozen drinks, and a dock packed with boats. At its peak, it was one of the lake's most recognizable landmarks. But when the historic drought of the early 2010s left the shoreline hundreds of feet from the water, the crowds disappeared with it.

After nearly two decades on the lake, Carlos n' Charlie's closed in September 2013, leaving behind plenty of stories and more than a little nostalgia.

For the Backyard BBQ. Trader Joe’s Patio Chips taste like a summer cookout packed into a single bag. BBQ, salt and vinegar, dill, and ketchup flavors all mixed together in a way that sounds questionable but works remarkably well. They're a seasonal item, so stock up. We may or may not be on our sixth bag.

Recovery, Upgraded. Dynamic Sports Medicine is now open in Bee Cave, offering sports rehab, chiropractic care, dry needling, cupping, shockwave, and red light therapy. In other words, help for whatever happened during pickleball, golf, or simply sleeping wrong.

Quoted. Adopt Me. We featured Pongo months ago, and honestly, we were surprised to see he's still looking for a home. After being shot and losing a leg, he somehow never lost his joy - and we're hoping the right person is reading this.
